An organization is your company's account in Ren. It holds your members, billing, labels, organization credentials, and channel connections like Slack and GitHub.

Ren creates an organization when you register without an invitation. If Ren recognizes a company email domain, it uses that domain to name the organization. Ren also creates a shared **General** space and a private **Personal** space. If you register through an invitation, you join the inviting organization instead.

## Switch organizations

You can belong to several organizations, like your company's and a client's. Switching organizations changes which chats, spaces, and settings you see.

<Fragment slot="app">

1. Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar. The organization you're in shows under your name.
2. Select another organization to switch to it.

To add an organization, select **Create organization**, enter a name, and add a logo if you want.

## Organization settings

Only owners and admins can change organization settings.

| Setting       | What it changes                                                                                                                                            |

| Default model | The model chats use when the space, the project, and the chat don't pick one. |

## Members

Every member has one of three roles:

- **Member:** uses Ren in the spaces they belong to, and creates their own spaces, projects, chats, and tasks.
- **Admin:** everything a member can do, plus the organization settings, members, billing, channel connections, and organization-wide storage and environments. An admin can also [join any shared space](/docs/concepts/spaces/#join-a-shared-space) in the organization.
- **Owner:** the same access as an admin, for the people responsible for the organization.

### Invite a teammate

<SurfaceTabs>
<Fragment slot="app">

1. Open **Settings → Members**.
2. Select **Add member**.
3. Enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas or new lines.
4. Choose a **Role**, then select **Send invite**.

Each invitee gets an email with a link to join. When they join, they're added to the General space and get their own personal space. They also join any shared spaces you [added them to](/docs/concepts/spaces/#members) while the invitation was pending.

### Manage invitations and members

The **Invitations** tab lists pending invitations. You can copy an invitation link, resend the invitation, or revoke it. Invitations expire after seven days.

On the **Members** tab, change someone's role from the **Role** menu, or select **Remove** to take them out of the organization and all of its spaces.
