Work your Shopify Admin API directly from Ren. Manage products, variants, inventory, orders, customers, discounts, and metafields, and pull the numbers behind them with ShopifyQL — sales, AOV, discounts, returns, sessions, and checkout funnels. Ask for a record and get the record; ask for a trend and get the query. Reporting runs read-only, so analysis never risks a write to your catalogue.

Complete these steps before you use this App.
What you need
SHOPIFY_STORE_DOMAIN — Permanent myshopify.com subdomain, e.g. my-store.myshopify.com.
SHOPIFY_CLIENT_ID — Client ID from the app's Settings page in Shopify's Dev Dashboard.
SHOPIFY_CLIENT_SECRET — Client secret from the app's Settings page in Shopify's Dev Dashboard.

Enter your store's permanent *.myshopify.com domain. Find it in Shopify admin under Settings, beneath your store name.

Open the Shopify Dev Dashboard. See Shopify's Dev Dashboard documentation for an overview.

Select Apps > Create app > Start from Dev Dashboard. Name the app, then click Create.

On the Versions tab, select the scopes Ren needs. Start with read_products, read_orders, and read_reports for ShopifyQL analytics. Add read_customers only when required. See the complete Shopify API access scope list, then click Release.

Select Home > Install app, choose your store, and click Install to authorize the app.

Open Settings, then copy the Client ID and Client secret.

Return to the Shopify connect card in Ren. Paste the Client ID and Client secret.

Ren verifies the connection by reading your store name. When the card shows that Shopify is connected, click Continue.

Ask Ren to pull the details for one product to verify that it can read your Shopify data.

Notes:

Your store domain is the permanent *.myshopify.com subdomain, not your custom domain.

A Dev Dashboard app only reaches stores in its own Shopify organization. For a client's store, the client creates the app in their organization and shares the client ID and secret, or adds you to that organization with app-development permission. shop_not_permitted on the token request means the app and the store are in different organizations.

read_orders covers the last 60 days of orders; read_all_orders is needed for older ones. Report totals come from ShopifyQL and are not subject to that window.

Ren obtains and renews Shopify access tokens from the client credentials. You do not need to create or refresh an access token.

Ren currently holds one Shopify connection per pod.
